Here are some tips on boiling eggs.
- Use old eggs
- Eggs that are older, about 5 days old.
- They will peel easier than fresh eggs, because some of the water has evaporated.
- Let the eggs warm to room temperature (15-20 minutes)
- This helps prevent cracking
- Put eggs in a single layer in the pan
- This will help the eggs from bouncing around and cracking the shells
- use cool water
- This will help the eggs from cracking, by slowly raising the temperature of the egg shells
- cover the eggs with at least 1 inch of water
- Add a little salt to the water
- This will draw out some of the water from the egg, through osmosis, making them easier to peel
- Once the eggs start to boil, turn the burner to low and simmer for 1 minute.
- After 1 minute turn the brunner off, remove the pan from the head and let the eggs for at least 10 minutes
